"The first impression of Knapsack is good. You mainly notice the difference in the user-friendliness of such a simple but effective product. Whereas we used to have to replace plastic bags every day, we now only have to do this once a week. Apart from being less work for us to replace the bags, they also look nice."
Pathé in Tilburg chose PETman to get better control over waste separation. This was not possible with the old collection bins the cinema had. The PETman ensures that empty plastic bottles from cinema visitors can be disposed of separately straight away. The results show that PETman is an effective way to separate waste: over 95% of all waste in the PETman consists of plastic bottles.
"Since summer 2018, we have had 4 PETman collection points in the park. The recognisability of the PET bottle makes it immediately clear to guests that this is PET bottle collection. This makes the waste stream much less contaminated and more suitable for recycling. It is ideal that we could design a wrapper ourselves so that the bottle fits our park perfectly in terms of appearance," says an employee of the
Dolfinarium.
Atheneum College Hageveld in Heemstede sets a good example to their students and is actively engaged in waste separation. Throughout the school are our Waste Watchers and PETmans to keep the school clean. Pupils respond positively to the bins and waste separation. Concierge Leon says: "Pupils are becoming increasingly aware of waste separation and its usefulness."
"We have enjoyed using the new Knap holders. The holders are spacious and can handle the larger bags well. They are also very stable, which makes them ideal for in-store use," says Aschwin, responsible for waste handling at Hornbach Zwolle.
"To collect the PET bottles separately, we have placed two large PETman bottles: one at the exit of the auditorium and one at the exit of the theatre.
We are happy with the PETman bottles: we keep the sea cleaner and visitors can dispose of their waste separately so that the PET can be recycled," an Omniversum staff member told us.
There are five PETman bottles in Plaswijckpark. One of the PETmans is in the catering facility next to a residual waste bin. This makes it even easier for visitors to separate waste: plastic in the PETman and other waste in the other waste bin.
Heide-Park did a two-year trial with 30 PETman bottles starting in 2015. The park is happy with the results and the PETmans will remain there for a long time.
With the deposit on the collected PET bottles, Heide-Park collected money which went to the Merlin Magic Wand Charity.
